Please click here to know more about the program.

What are the requirements?

You must be between 18-30 years of age and have at least an intermediate level of English. If you don’t speak any Mandarin you will be required to undergo a minimum 4 week intensive
Mandarin course.

What roles are available?

We have many roles available across a number of industries. We will endeavor to place you in the most appropriate company for your situation. Placement companies are mainly in Beijing or
Shanghai.

How many host companies will I be offered?

Upon receiving your application, CV, cover letter and registration fee we will look for a suitable host company that best fits your situation.
If the initial offer is not to your liking, we will provide you an alternative host company.

What is the intensive Mandarin course?

In order to communicate at your internship it is important you can speak Mandarin at a basic level as a minimum. We have designed a 4 week Mandarin course for you to under-
take before your internship. Not only will this benefit you at your host company but in daily situations as well.

What happens when I arrive in China?

Our staff will pick you up from the airport and take you to your accommodation. There you will be given an orientation to China and we’ll show you some local tourist spots before we go for a welcome meal.
On the first day of Mandarin classes we’ll accompany you to our company. After the course we will take you to your host company.

What support is provided throughout the duration of the program?

We maintain regular contact with both you and your host company to ensure both parties are satisfied with the experience.
You are responsible for communicating with the company on minor matters. In the case of major issues we can be contacted to help resolve them.
We regularly arrange social gatherings which you will be invited to. Of course, if you have any questions or issues to raise yourself, you can contact us any time.

What accommodation options are there? How much is the cost of living there?

We currently offer accommodation in:
- Homestay (Beijing only)
- Shared housing complexes with other travelers/interns
- Single apartment
We encourage you to do a homestay with a Chinese family. Your level of Mandarin will accelerate the most by living with a Chinese family.

Do I receive an allowance?

Once you begin your internship, you will receive a daily allowance on work days. Hospitality interns also get meals and accommodation . This is in line with international practices.
Occasionally, some roles may have an allowance but this would depend on the individual company and your related experience.

What kind of visa is needed?

You will need an ‘F’ or 'L' visa to enter China, which is for cultural exchange programs or visitor. Mandarin study is also permitted under this visa.
The visas are linked to the program and should not be used to obtain other work in China.

What about travel & personal liability insurance?

You definitely need insurance to cover personal liability, emergency, medical and repatriation expenses, loss and theft of luggage and valuables.
We also advise you to be covered for cancellation of trip and inability to continue the program.
